The Board Leadership Masterclass is focused on publicly traded companies and the core responsibilities, issues and dilemmas that the Board of Directors of large corporations are faced with. The purpose of the Masterclass is to bring the frontier of corporate governance and board leadership practices to chairs, directors and C-suite executives, thereby enhancing these practices and value creation in an ever-changing business landscape.
Each year, since its inception in 2013, 26 chairs, directors and C-suite have participated in this 5-day summer program.
Curriculum and Approach
The Board Leadership Masterclass is developed in close collaboration with leading chairs and key players from the top of the Danish corporate world. The curriculum is built around 17 challenging situations facing the chairman and the board, presented in case stories based on real life events. The case discussions are facilitated by teaching teams of chairs, professors and advisors to boards. The Masterclass is taught by 5 professors, 14 chairs and 8 senior advisors.
The pedagogical principle, reflection and learning is based on practical experience and research-based knowledge. The classes are all in Danish, with most of the cases being in Danish as well, however the CBS Board Leadership Education has plans to offer the Masterclass in English by 2020.
